Sqwid x True Stars NFT Partnership 🤝 Meet the 1st Artist: Rainbow Mosho 🎨

Today, we're diving into the colorful, imaginative, and boundary-pushing world of an artist who's making waves in the NFT space—Rainbow Mosho! A masterful storyteller with roots in unconventional art forms, Rainbow’s journey from cardboard canvases to blockchain creations is nothing short of inspiring.

From dabbling with index-finger iPad artistry to merging her passions for nature, justice, and creativity, Rainbow’s evolution as an artist is a testament to the limitless possibilities of imagination. Her latest creation, Ascending into the Unknown, reflects her adventurous spirit and commitment to making connections across galaxies—both literal and digital.

As her special NFT launches tomorrow, January 15, 2025, we’re thrilled to share this interview with you, which explores her artistic journey, the process behind her groundbreaking NFT, and the magic that fuels her creativity.

Let’s jump into the mind of this visionary creator!

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background as an artist? How did you get into creating NFTs?

I’m a quirky blend of art nerd meets tech in the making geek—a storyteller at heart who started out creating art on pieces of cardboard and ceiling tiles. Also, I used my index finger to create art on the iPad.

But now, I've traded the paintbrush and pouring paint for pixels. My mom and I stumbled into the NFT world like Alice down the rabbit hole, curious and slightly confused, but I’ve always believed art should be as limitless as imagination.

When I realized I could combine my love for nature, my obsession with justice, and my passion for giving forgotten voices a platform, NFTs became my playground. My journey began with rogue sketches on napkins, but somehow, they evolved into digital collectibles with personalities!

The idea that art could also empower creators financially hooked me—plus, who doesn’t love the idea of making art that lives on the blockchain? For me, NFTs are just the next chapter in my storybook of wild, creative experiments.

Tell us more about your NFT character: who are they, where did they come from, what special features do they have?

Coralina in 'Ascending into the Unknown' NFT. Coming to Sqwid 15/01/25

Oh, you mean my NFT version of Coralina... Wow...  She’s a little rebellious, a little poetic, and fully committed to creating connections across galaxies (and blockchain networks).

I like to think of her as a mirror for creators like me—always evolving, always on a mission to discover something new.

Oh, and her backstory? She's made of daydreams, of adventure and a desire to shine bright like the stars.

Can you walk us through your creative process for creating this NFT? How do you decide on the design, format, and other elements of your digital art?

It usually starts with a spark—an idea that hits me while I’m moving back and forth and humming or staring at leaves and pretending they’re spaceships. I sketch, and I move to mixed media, then move to digital tools, where the real magic begins.

The design is a balance of chaos and control—I layer textures and blend vivid colors, and with some pieces, I use tech like AI to add that extra spark of unpredictability.

Format? I let the character’s personality decide. For my version of Coralina, she demanded bright hues on her hair and fluorescence to the fish that accompanied her. And because storytelling is key, I always include symbols that relate to my emotions and curiosity —like coordinates to real-world locations or secret messages.

My process is part art, part my own science, and 100% fueled by curiosity.

Lastly, if you could have any superpower to help you create NFTs, what would it be and why?

Hands down, omnivision—the ability to see and create in all dimensions and timelines at once!

Imagine being able to design a character while simultaneously exploring their future, past, and alternate realities—it’s like storytelling on steroids. I’d also be able to tweak pixels in the quantum realm or collaborate with artists from parallel universes.

Plus, with omnivision, I’d never lose an idea—no more fighting ADHD with 10 ideas at the same time or waking up at 3 a.m. wondering what that dream about glowing turtles meant for my next project.

It’s the perfect mix of creative chaos and divine control, and honestly, NFTs deserve that level of cosmic flair. Oh, and let’s not forget: I’d totally use it to sneak a peek at what the blockchain looks like in the year 3000!
